I have seen you bloom in every season
Standing loudly – disobedient,
Like a highlighted line in a library book.
On warm nights, I have felt you radiate with daytime.
You like to dance in my peripheries
As fireflies do when released from their jars.
I have watched you fall like lightning
In times of change, igniting a symphony
Of bells and trumpets from the dusty earth.
To the naked ear, you are dissonant.
But to me, a dulcet and unpredictable melody
In a harmonized chorus
I have heard too many times.
Even on the quiet days,
When the brass seems to have lost its luster
And the greens have aged into silent greys
I have sensed your warm tone,
A reminder of the golden ticket that lies in every sunrise.
